Highlights CIK-FIA World & European Championships with the SAUBER junior team

Joshua Dufek, the young Swiss driver born to an Austrian father and a British mother, is one of the fastest and best racing drivers in his age group worldwide. Being selected for the Sauber Karting Team ahead of the 2019 campaign, Joshua rose to the challenge, despite being one of the youngest competitors in the OK Senior class, the highest category in international karting. Instantly running at the front of a field comprising around 100 of the world’s best drivers, he saved his best for last, taking pole position and dominating the wet race from start to finish at the CIK FIA World Championship at Alahärmä in Finland.

Joshua made a thunderous debut in karting in 2013 winning both the Vega Trofeo and the Swiss Championship in the same year. Championship wins in his Swiss homeland were followed by race wins and pole positions en route to a top four placing in the X30 Junior category of Germany’s ADAC Masters series, paving the way for Joshua to graduate to the international scene. Throughout his karting career Joshua achieved 37 race wins, 51 podium finishes and 16 pole positions.
